Tonmind SIP-T22W WiFi Paging Adapter: Flexible WiFi Connectivity with STA and Access Point Modes
August 19 , 2026As IP audio systems become increasingly common in paging, intercom, security, and public address applications, flexible network connectivity is becoming an important requirement—especially in locations where Ethernet cabling is difficult or costly.
The Tonmind WiFi Paging Adapter SIP-T22W provides a practical solution by combining IP audio integration with flexible 2.4GHz WiFi connectivity. Supporting both Station (STA) Mode and Access Point (AP) Mode, the T22W makes it easier to deploy IP audio systems in factories, churches, outdoor areas, warehouses, and other large or hard-to-wire environments.

The Tonmind SIP-T22W is a compact WiFi paging adapter designed to integrate traditional analog audio equipment into modern IP speaker systems.
It features a built-in 15W amplifier, allowing analog speakers to connect directly to the adapter. It also provides MIC input, headset output and speaker output, supporting paging, background music and two-way intercom applications.
The T22W supports SIP and ONVIF protocols, enabling integration with SIP servers, IP PBX systems, SIP phones, VMS and NVR platforms. It also supports prerecorded messages, scheduled playback, RTP Multicast, GPIO triggering, relay output and HTTP URL triggering. Power can be supplied through either PoE or DC 12V.
One of the key features that distinguishes the SIP-T22W is its 2.4GHz IEEE 802.11b/g/n WiFi connectivity, which supports both STA Mode and Access Point Mode.
Depending on the network environment and project requirements, users can choose between Station Mode and Access Point Mode. This flexibility helps simplify deployment in locations where conventional wired network connections may not be convenient.
In Station Mode, the SIP-T22W works as a WiFi client and connects to an existing wireless network.
Users simply configure the WiFi SSID and password through the T22W Web interface. Once connected, the T22W becomes part of the existing IP network and can communicate with SIP servers, IP PBX systems, Tonmind PA System software, VMS platforms and other network devices.
This means that an Ethernet cable does not need to be routed all the way to the T22W. After the WiFi connection has been configured, users can simply connect DC 12V power to the device and allow it to operate through the wireless network.
For example:
Existing Network / WiFi Router → WiFi → SIP-T22W → Analog Speaker
This is especially useful when the network infrastructure already provides WiFi coverage but running additional Ethernet cables to the speaker installation point would be inconvenient.
Station Mode can significantly simplify installation by reducing network cabling requirements. It is suitable for applications such as:
Factories and warehouses
Churches and large halls
Schools and campuses
Retail stores
Offices
Outdoor facilities
Temporary installations
For example, in a large factory, speakers may need to be installed far away from the network cabinet. Instead of installing additional Ethernet cables across the site, the T22W can connect to the factory's available WiFi network and directly drive an analog speaker through its built-in 15W amplifier.
This provides a flexible way to expand an IP paging system while making use of existing wireless infrastructure.
The SIP-T22W can also operate in Access Point Mode.
In this mode, the T22W creates its own WiFi hotspot. Other network devices such as smartphones, laptops and computers can connect directly to the WiFi network generated by the T22W.
Instead of requiring every nearby device to connect to a separate WiFi router or access point, the T22W itself can provide a local wireless connection.
The T22W Access Point Mode supports connections for up to 11 devices, providing additional flexibility for small local networks.
A typical network structure can be:
Network → SIP-T22W → WiFi Hotspot → Smartphone / Laptop / Other Network Devices
Connected devices can use the T22W WiFi hotspot for network communication, making the T22W not only an IP audio gateway but also a convenient wireless access point for nearby equipment.
Access Point Mode is particularly useful in projects where network coverage is limited or where installing additional wireless infrastructure would be inconvenient.
Outdoor sites may not always have convenient WiFi access points close to the speaker installation area. The T22W can provide a local wireless hotspot for nearby devices while also performing paging and audio communication functions.
Factories and warehouses often cover large areas, and some locations may have weak or inconvenient network access.
By using the T22W in Access Point Mode, nearby computers, smartphones or other network devices can connect directly to the T22W hotspot, helping extend local network connectivity while supporting the paging system.
Churches, auditoriums and other large venues often require flexible audio deployment across different areas. Installing additional network cables or WiFi access points may increase project complexity.
The SIP-T22W provides another option by combining IP audio connectivity and WiFi hotspot functionality in one compact device.
Different installation environments require different network structures.
With Station Mode, the T22W joins an existing WiFi network and works as a wireless IP audio endpoint.
With Access Point Mode, the T22W creates its own WiFi hotspot and allows nearby network devices to connect directly.
Users can select the appropriate mode according to the actual network conditions and project requirements.
This makes the SIP-T22W particularly suitable for projects where flexible wireless deployment is important.
The Tonmind WiFi Paging Adapter SIP-T22W combines a built-in 15W amplifier, SIP and ONVIF compatibility, rich audio and alarm interfaces, and flexible WiFi connectivity in one compact device.
Its Station Mode helps reduce Ethernet cabling by allowing the T22W to connect directly to an existing WiFi network, while its Access Point Mode allows the device to create a WiFi hotspot for up to 11 nearby network devices.
Whether deployed in a factory, warehouse, church, outdoor facility, school or commercial building, the SIP-T22W provides a flexible way to integrate traditional analog speakers into modern IP audio systems while simplifying network deployment.
With its dual WiFi working modes, the Tonmind SIP-T22W offers more possibilities for building flexible, reliable and easy-to-deploy IP paging and communication systems.
